My Approach

Many athletes and high performance individuals have worked with coaches or consultants focused on skills and techniques. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy goes deeper to build an understanding of oneself for change that lasts. We explore the emotional and relational patterns underneath performance that quietly shape how you operate under pressure, respond to setbacks, and relate to others. This includes not just what is happening, but why.

Psychoanalysis is a modality of therapy that rewards effort and commitment. I typically work with individuals every week, often multiple sessions a week, in-person but with a hybrid approach. The relationship we build together is central to learning about oneself and my hope is that you will begin to think and feel differently about yourself.

I am direct, engaged, and compassionate. I find playfulness, humor, and honesty vital to my work.

Specialty Experience

  • Eating disorders are significantly more prevalent in athletes as one’s body is essential to sport. I work with athletes experiencing disordered eating and body image concerns, focusing on both athletic identity and the whole person. I take a team approach to care and maintain a network of physicians, dietitians, psychiatrists, and specialists to work with collaboratively for recovery.

  • I often work with founders, executives, and professionals navigating the particular pressures of the Bay Area — burnout, identity tied to work, and the difficulty of sustaining relationships alongside demanding careers. I aim to support people in creating balance in their lives, understanding their range of emotions, and prioritize their mental health.

  • Having worked in the entertainment industry with high-level performers prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I have firsthand knowledge of the challenges of this industry. I work with actors, executives, musicians, and creative professionals navigating the unique pressures of a career in the public eye — including fame, identity, visibility, rejection and creative blocks.
